Atkinson forestry was founded in 1939 in Hull Yorkshire by Mr Jack Atkinson who started the company orginally for forestry felling purposes, After a long sucsesful timber haulage firm was established Jack Atkinson decided it was now time to branch out into tree surgery so Atkinson Forestry Tree Surgeons was born.
By the end of 1965 Jack Atkinson's Son Fred Atkinson took control of the company. He was well known through out yorkshire for his expert tree felling skills and decided it was now time for the company to expand and moved the company headquarters to heath and reach just outside of leighton buzzard, Fred Atkinson built such a reputation within the surrounding areas that people still come to Atkinson Forestry to this day based on that alone.
After Fred Atkinson's son Christopher Atkinson decided to join the company in 1983 Fred decided it was time to pass on this legacy and knowledge that he had acumulated over the years and vast knowledge he gained from his father to his son,
Chris Atkinson from the start showed a unique ability for tree surgery and soon he was widely recognised as one of the most knowlegable people in the industry within bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and hertfordshire, Chris took over the running of the company from his father in 1988 and the company flourished, Along with his vast knowledge of Arboriculture and a specialist ability to identify structural problems aswell as bacterial and fungal problems within tree's Atkinson Forestry soon became recognised as one of the best company's in the industry.
To this day Atkinson forestry's reputation is still strong, They provide services to not only the general public but also public sectors and other tree surgery companys.
